WHAT IS BIODYNAMIC
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY?

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a uniquely simple, yet profound and effective approach to wholistic health and wellbeing.  Using a gentle touch, the practitioner listens from a place of embodied neutrality and presence to the subtle rhythms of the body.  This awareness naturally supports the body to align and focus on its inherent health states and is well known for allowing a deep relaxation whilst the client is on the treatment table.

From this deep state of settling (or stillness) it can enable many beneficial responses.  Some common responses include releasing tensions in connective tissue patterns, easing headaches, soothing the nervous system, release and integration of past trauma, supporting the realigning of structural issues, as well as emotional comfort with enhanced feelings of ease, energetic and even joyful states.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Julie Lacey

I first became fascinated in Craniosacral work living in London in the late 90’s. My neighbour was a cranial osteopath and seemed to be working mainly with stillness. I was treating clients in Reflexology and Shiatsu at the time and was noticing that when I was just settling and listening to my clients, it was resourcing in a way that I couldn’t quite grasp at the time. To find a modality based around that was very interesting to me and thus my journey began.

I moved to New Zealand in 2002 and began my training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. My clinic is now based in Nelson, New Zealand.

  • “After battling with a long-term chronic illness coupled with long-term psychological stress, I found Julie's therapy and emotional support extremely helpful in my recovery. Her sessions provide the deepest relaxation and restoration to the mind and body. With Julie's skills, the healing of my nervous system was on a much deeper level, an element of treatment which I had not found to be as effective in any other areas of alternative therapies previously sought out.  You certainly have to try this completely naturally treatment to understand its healing effects.” EH

  • "Julie makes my life so much better, I wouldn’t even consider not having Cranio. Life-changing! I’m an executive with a very busy sport/gym and social life, living at speed. I’ve been going to Julie on and off for years and lately have started to go once a week because it just makes life so much more enjoyable. I perform better at work and sport, and feel better all the time!" Rob

  • “I came to your Nia class a few weeks ago, and just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. It was the first Nia class I'd ever attended, and it was wonderful!  Your relaxed, welcoming attitude, explanations and musical choices made it all so much fun.” Anna

  • “I’ve had a lot of Craniosacral Therapy in the past and found Julies’ beautifully sensitive touch to move my energy at very deep levels. She is highly intuitive with her work and knew what I needed to clear some old energy blocks.  I would highly recommend her therapy and found it complemented perfectly the personal energy work I was doing during the Retreat.” Karen

  • “Julie has been a supervisor in my clinical practice for a number of years now. She has been an invaluable support for me while working with my clients & for my own development. She is able to listen deeply and offer new perspectives that enable me to help clients more effectively. Her grounded approach helps me to stay centered & resourced even when dealing with challenging issues. I would wholeheartedly recommend Julie to anyone needing skilled & compassionate clinical supervision." James
